Why Choose a Wibtrac Walk in Bath or Walk in

Shower?

Walk in Baths and W alk in Showers have become the ultimate solution to independent bathing for seniors and people with bathing difficulties all over the world. By choosing one of our products you will experience safe, luxurious and comfortable bathing. Elderly seniors and people with limited mobility choose Wibtrac®.

About Us

At the Walk in Bath and Shower Trading Company (Wibtrac®) we have more than 20 years experience, and are known within the trade for providing Bath and Shower system units that surpass industry standards for installation, ease and reliability.

Our Walk in Baths and Showers offer a complete range with a 100% focus on our bathing and shower systems. We are a leading supplier to the growing residential, new build and care home market with designs and functions that will fit beautifully into your home. With Wibtrac® Walk in Baths and Showers you will find a quality and finish that will exceed your expectations.

Quality of Manufacture

The most important part of any W alk in Bath or Shower is the frame. With the bath It needs to be welded together (not bolted as a bolted frame will move), substantial in size and of good quality. Our frame is stainless steel. It is the only bath on the market with a stainless steel frame. Stainless steel does not rust, is stronger and gives you that feeling of longevity. The stainless steel frame will prevent any rusting and ensure the rigidity and longevity of the Walk in Bath. Other companies use a mild steel frame. What happens when you get water or condensation on steel? It will eventually rust. The same applies to the fully adjustable bath legs, the hinge and the handle.

The next most important aspect is the Walk in Bath design. All our baths are manufactured as below:

We start with THREE layers of Gelcoat (most companies only use one) to give you that luxurious look and shine.

There are FOUR layers of high-efficiency glass-fibre used to build up the thickness of the whole body. Most Walk in Baths have only two layers. We also thicken the main supporting areas around the corners and around the back of the seat where we use FIVE layers of high-efficiency glassfibre and we use SIX layers in the floor area.

With the shower it is essential that it is completly water leak-proof, which is why we offer a lifetime guarantee on the seal and is very rigid and solid in construction.

As our showers are of pod design so you are getting the ultimate in strength.

Safety

The most important aspect of your purchase is your safety. How safe is the Walk in Bath or Shower you are purchasing?

Some people say that the Health and Safety Executive have gone too far with a lot of needless legislation. When it comes to the safe keeping of our clients we disagree with those sentiments. Every country in the World has its own Health and Safety Executive and they are all working towards making all the products that we purchase safer.

Wibtrac ® is the only company in Europe that has all the Global Certifications that are required to meet all the new stringent product testing and Government testing requirements appertaining to a Walk in Bath.

Some Walk in Bath and Shower companies may have one of these certifications. Wibtrac® are proud to announce that we have them all. The certificated logos below will give you peace of mind that all our products have been tested to the highest required standards.

It has cost us a lot of money to acquire these certifications which really does endorse our commitment to making a quality Walk in Bath and Shower that we can install at an affordable price.

Before you buy a Walk in bath or Walk in Shower please make sure that your Spa and/or Whirlpool system as well as your taps and mixers are tested and certificated and suitable for that particular Walk in Bath or Walk in Shower.

We even have the USA UL testing certification. This is the hardest one to obtain because of all the product liability claims that are made.

Ask the supplier to show you the tested certification which must have one of the logo's that we have shown further down. If they can not show it. Beware!!!!

Wibtrac® Walk in Baths have all of the necessary safety features to make bathing safe and convenient, including:

Wibtrac® Door System – our proprietary leak proof door system. Wibtrac®revolutionary CD1 door system eliminates the need to stand up whilst closing the door or having to move the knees to miss the door in a sitting position . The curved door allows it to close over the top of the knees.

A low step on the front of the bath allows safe and effortless entry and exit. No stepping or straining to get in or out of the bath.

Wibtrac® built-in seat for safe bathing. The built-in, contoured, chair height seat is standard in all Wibtrac® Walk in Baths except the Mayfair.

Wibtrac® Walk in Baths are nearly twice as deep as regular baths so youll enjoy much more room to soak, without the worry or struggle of getting up or down.

The built-in slip resistant bath floor and seat adds even more security and further increases your peace of mind.

Every detail about the Wibtrac® Walk in Bath is designed for your independence, safety, comfort and convenience. No more bending, climbing, slipping or pulling yourself up from a low bath. Our unique walk-through door and easy seating makes the walk in bathing experience unique.

Our range of Walk in Showers offers you the same bathing experience.

Convenience

The ultimate easy Install – no need to wait for that new bathroom. The Regency, Mayfair and Windsor range are all designed to fit into the same space as your current Bath or Shower.

Most Baths and Showers are in stock. Should we be out of stock the maximum wait would be 8 weeks.

All our baths and showers are held at our modern Telford warehouse where we can offer you a 3 day UK mainland delivery service to wherever you want your bath delivered.

Which Wibtrac Bath is right for you?

The following features are common to all our baths:

The walk in facility provided by a door at one end!

Our two main types of bath for the UK are the Regency and the Mayfair.

image103.jpg

Regency

One of the many keys to the Regency’s success

is its strategically designed shaped door with

an ultra low entry threshold. It allows you to

easily step in and out of the bath.Simply sit down, close the door and when you are safely seated fill the bath to your desired level.

Fill it to just above the ankles for that soothing foot massage, above the knees to ease the joints or to the top and ENJOY.

The Regency range has the Wibtrac® built-in, countoured, chair-height seat for safe bathing.

The Regency range also has a foot operated push down waste, so you do not have to bend down to insert the plug.

Our Regency bath is also five inches higher than any similar style UK Walk in Bath which ensures a care free relaxing soak.

The Regency extension box is also shown to the left and right of the bath. It fills in the gap left when your longer bath is removed and the shorter Regency is installed.

Available in White or Biscuit (8 – 10 week wait for Biscuit colour)

Mayfair

At last, a range of affordable Walk in Baths all the family can use. The Mayfair is the same size as a conventional full-length bath but has the advantage of the walk in facility provided by a door at one end.

At 1500mm and 1700mm long and with a door available either side, the Mayfair is adaptable to most bathrooms.

The Mayfair is a family bath designed to keep Mum, Dad or the Grandparents living at home for as long as possible. It can be used by all family members as a bath or a shower. As with the Regency it’s just a simple lift of the door lever, step into the bath and either shower or bathe. It comes complete with a chain waste.

With any of our baths your bathing independence will return and your quality of life will improve.

The Regency and the Mayfair are our top European sellers. They are usually in stock and will go through any European doorway.

Ordering Your Bath – the 4-Step Process

STEP 1

MEASURE THE LENGTH AND WIDTH OF YOUR EXISTING BATH

Your new Walk in Bath will usually take the place of the existing bath. Also, note if there are any windows directly above any part of the bath. If so, measure the distance from the floor of the bath to the BOTTOM of the window. Write down all measurements.

STEP 2

MEASURE THE WIDTH OF EACH DOOR

(and each hallway) leading from your front or back entrance door of your home, through every door and hallway leading to the bathroom where it will be installed. W rite down only the width of each one that is 26” or less. Any regular door width of 26” or more is usually sufficient to allow most of our Walk in Baths entry into your bathroom. (For some of our bath models, this may require a temporary door assembly removal and replacement of your 26” doors.)

Note: Common door widths are usually 26”, 28”, 30”, 32” or 36”

They may ultimately measure up to ½ inch shy of any of these measurements. If you have a 24” door width, by removing the door and or frame you can get ALL of our models through that opening. Additionally, you may choose to widen the 24” door to a 28” or 30” door, if it is feasible. This may also bring your door width up to current building codes and allow clearance for any walkers or wheelchairs. W idening a 24” door to a larger door can allow

EVERY model in our line of Walk-in-Baths to fit through your doorway.

STEP 3

DETERMINE WHICH DRAWING BELOW BEST DESCRIBES THE CONFIGURATION OF YOUR BATHROOM.

Directly below Step 4 are some common configurations of existing baths in relationship to the placement of the commode (or sink). Simply determine which one of the 8 bathroom drawings best describes the configuration of your bathroom, and write down that number. The reason to include this step is that you need to determine whether you require a LEFT mounted door or a RIGHT mounted door on the face of the bath. It is ALWAYS best to put the bath’s door where you have the most space available for easiest entry and exit into and out of the bath. By selecting the correct configuration of your existing bathroom below, we can provide you with the door correctly mounted (LEFT or RIGHT) specifically for you.

STEP 4

DETERMINE WHICH WALL OF YOUR EXISTING BATH HAS TH EXISTING FIXTURES

(i.e. knobs, taps, shower-head.) Determine this by facing the long side (length) of your bath standing outside of it. You will find your existing fixtures on either the “left wall”, “right wall” or “back wall” of the bath.

Based on your answers to steps 2, 3 and 4 you can ascertain if a “reversal of plumbing” will be needed when the Walk in Bath is installed. About 40% of the time, a “reversal of plumbing” is needed. With all of our models reversals can be done simply and easily under the bath, between the bathroom floor and the bath floor.

fit, please contact us and we will make an appointment for a trained

adviser to call and give you a fixed installation cost.

Some companies give the impression they are a charity. Some of them are not. The real supplier is using the charities name to help them promote their goods and they say they donate a small amount to that charity.

This can be very misleading as you think you are dealing with a charity and should be getting a good installation price when in fact you are not.

Let’s work together. Let us supply and install your Walk in Bath or Walk in Shower and we will thank you with our 5 star value for money installation.

Please read our Price Guarantee further down. Other companies offer this but ask them to put it in writing and match our price.

Having read this brochure you will realise that our Walk in Baths and Walk in Showers are quality products with a lot of unique features.  Many years of hard work and thousands of hours have been spent in the Design Studio so that we can offer you the ultimate Walk in bath and Walk in Shower that will last for the rest of your lifetime. Another big consideration is when you either want to move home or you have to move home. Just how easy and inexpensive will it be to remove the Walk in Bath or Walk in Shower. With all our products they can be removed as quickly as they were installed and a conventional bath can be  re-installed.

Our prices are more than competitive. Please obtain a price from any of our competitors and before you commit yourself ask us for a price to supply and do the same work. Have a look at the letter from Mrs Simmonds.

wibtrac.png

We only call by fixed appointment.

The Regency range are the only Walk in Baths for sale in the UK that are 42 inches high. This will give you an extra feeling of security when standing up to have a shower and the bath takes the same amount of water as a normal bath.

All our baths are built on a solid welded stainless steel frame. It will not RUST and is not bolted together, like most are, it is welded. A bolted frame may allow the bath to twist and eventually it may leak through the door.

We make the only bath with 6 extra large 15mm wide stainless steel fullyadjustable supporting legs. Experience has taught us that with thinner 8mm or 10mm legs when the bath is dragged during the installation, they bend. This can cause the door and the front panel not to fit correctly.

The frame on the Mayfair is fully adjustable to allow the door to fit perfectly. Not all floors are level and this is the most common reason why Walk in Baths leak. The adjustable frame adjuster overcomes this major problem when it arises. It is essential on any bath over 1500mm in length.

We make the only bath without the use of wooden strengtheners on the bottom. We do not CUT COST when it comes to quality. All our baths have six layers of fibreglass on the bottom to strengthen them to an indestructible level. A section of wood running along the bottom or under the seat is a cost cutting exercise and will soon become damp and soft with the water condensation from the bathroom and it becomes very inefficient allowing the bath to twist and again you could have a leaking door.

Please remember that the Regency and Mayfair are available as a soaker or with the hydra-spa, as a whirlpool water model or the top of the range dual with the hydra-spa and whirlpool together.

Our installation service covers the whole of the UK. Ask about our 5 Star Gold Installation package.

Fitting a Walk in Bath or our walk in Shower is very different to installing a normal bath or shower.  If you require we can fit a thermostatic control which is pressure controlled so we have to ensure the flow rate and water pressure are sufficient to operate the thermostat. Theses are standard in our showers. If it’s too high we may have to fit a PRV ( pressure reducing valve). We always change the piping to plastic push fit. It’s easier and should any maintenance be required it can be done very quickly.

Please do not have your bath or shower installed by someone who has not installed a Walk in Bath before. To a lot of installers, fitting a thermostatic control valve (we do not use integral ones inside the taps as they are not as reliable) or a pressure reducing valve, is unknown territory. If you already have low pressure the TMV can reduce it even more.

Every day we receive calls from clients who have bought a Walk in Bath from another company and had it fitted by a relative or an unqualified fitter. They are phoning because, the hot or cold water has stopped flowing, the bath is taking too long to fill or the door will not close.

All of this could be prevented by using our trained installers with the added peace of mind that the installation has been carried out correctly and you qualify for our 36 month installation warranty.

All the parts we use are top quality, reliable, proved and tested from well known manufacturers. We want your bath or shower and it’s fittings to last you your life time.

OUR PRICE GUARANTEE

At present for a lot of Walk in Bath and Walk in Shower suppliers, times are hard and some are offering reduced prices. That’s good, as we all like a bargain.

Please beware of just what you are buying and do not get talked into a rushed decision because of a reduced price. Will the company still be there next year to carry out any warranty claims?

We get a lot of calls from customers who have purchased a Walk in Bath from a company that is now out of business. We also get a lot of calls from people who have now got a leaking door, or their taps have stopped working, or the thermostat is faulty because they had their Walk in Bath installed by a "Plumber" who has never fitted a Walk in Bath. The installation of a Walk in Bath is very different.

We are the manufacturer of our baths so we know how much they cost and as you are dealing direct with the factory we have no middle men so if a Walk in Bath or a pod shower is offered to you for less money than our equivalent installed price please let us know. If you are being offered a lower price bath it is either acrylic, has a rustable steel, not stainless steel, frame, is just a shower tray with sides, will not be certificated or they are cutting back on the installation materials.

Have another look at our brochure, or our website and see exactly what you are getting for your money with a WIBTRAC Walk in Bath or Shower.

No other company can offer you the same features and benefits as we do at our prices. If you are offered a Walk in Bath or a Walk in Shower at an installed price which is less than our installed price please call us and we will match their price (as long as it’s a new reputable model and like for like), and you can show us their quotation in writing. If it’s one of the cheap imports without any of the features we have listed in this FAQ page I suggest you stay clear.

WE STAND BY WHAT WE SAY, THAT TIMES ARE HARD FOR EVERYONE AND MOST OF US AT WIBTRAC STILL HAVE OUR PARENTS SO NO ONE IS MORE AWARE OF THIS THAN US. IF WE HAVE TO MAKE A REDUCTION ON OUR BATH PRICE TO ENSURE YOU PURCHASE A CERTIFIED, QUALITY WALK IN BATH AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE, WE WILL.

We are frequently asked how are our baths and showers are so competitively priced?

The answer is our Company Policy to ensure our Seniors purchase excellent value for money. We are the manufacturer. You are dealing direct with the factory. There are no middle men, we have no high TV, newspaper or magazine ads to pay for and as we buy so much of our materials in large quantities we get the best purchasing prices. We pass this on to our clients.

Some of the so called charitable companies are spending many thousands of pounds per month advertising. Who has to pay for that? Also, as we own everything there are no high bank charges to pay back loans, etc.

We believe a Walk in Bath or a Walk in Shower is a necessity for a lot of people and should be affordable to everyone. They should not be treated as a luxury item only available to the advantaged few.

We have built our company to the size it is by offering a professional service using qualified installers and ensuring you receive exceptionally good value for money.

Finally, we only employ personnel that really understand the needs of ourclients and will have your interest at heart.

You can pay with your ard, Pay Pal, Cheque or by a Bank Transfer.

image112.jpg

We only ask for a £1,000 deposit with the balance payable after satisfactory completion of the installation.

By now you will have realised how many unique features our Walk in Baths offer and what exceptional value for money they give you. How much are you saving against the quotations you have already received?

Please remember our unique features which safeguard your purchase, give you peace of mind and ensure your bathing security.

Please make sure that your Spa and/or Water system as well as your taps and mixers are tested and certificated and suitable for that particular Walk in Bath.

We even have the USA UL testing certification. This is the hardest one to obtain because of all the product liability claims that are made.

Before you buy a Walk in Bath please ask the supplier to show you the tested certification logo for that product. If they cannot show you it. Beware!!!!

They should look like one of these.

 What is the delivery period?

Normally the Regency, the Mayfair Soaker and all the Showers are held in stock. Should we be out of stock the normal lead time is 4 weeks. The Lancaster and all the whirlpool and the dual models are made to order and the lead time can be around 8 - 10 weeks.

How do I order my Walk in Bath?

Just call us on 0800 612 5952 and make an appointment for one of our trained advisors to call and discuss your requirements and ensure that the bath or shower you choose will fit, that it is the correct one for you, that the door is on the correct side, ascertain whether you need a pump to speed up the water flow and we can give you a fixed price to complete our 5 star installation.

How do I arrange my delivery?

We will arrange all of this when we confirm the installation. Most Lancaster, Regency and Shower UK mainland deliveries are £85.00 and the Mayfair is £125.00. There is a small surcharge for Northern and Southern Scotland, I.O.M., the South West and the C.I.

We can arrange a timed delivery for an additional £10.00 This works well as by then your existing bath will have been removed and our installer and his mate will be ready to receive the new product.

If you want the bath or shower delivered before the day of installtion please be aware that the delivery vehicle will have a tail lift, one person and a hand operated lift truck. He will be able to move the bath or shower into your garage or anywhere that has a flat surface entry. We can supply an additional person but he will be in the truck for the day and the charge is £80.00. If the bath or shower has to be lifted into the premises it would be better to ask a relation or a friend to be on standby to help.

How long will it take to install my Walk in Bath or Shower?

Usually the installation will only take one day. If you require a bathroom modification it may take longer.

Will the installation of my purchase cause much disruption in my house?

Most Walk in Baths and Walk in Showers can be fitted into standard bathrooms with minimal disruption to the home.

I have been told that after a while some of these baths, because they have a steel frame, start to rust which weakens the bath and leaves rusty coloured water marks on the floor and carpet.

The most important part of any Walk in Bath is its frame. It needs to be welded together, not bolted, as a bolted frame can move; the frame must be substantial in size and of good quality.

Please be very aware of purchasing a bath with a steel frame. What happens when you get water or condensation on steel? It eventually rusts.

The companies that use a steel frame powder coat the frame but the rust eats into the bare metal where the spring washer has worn away the powder coating as the frame was tightened.

That is the last place you want any rust as it also weakens the nut and bolt. Our frame is stainless steel. Stainless steel does not rust, is stronger and  gives you that feeling of longevity.

Please click on the link Why our Baths are Best and see a picture of our Stainless Steel frame on our website. www.wibtrac.co.uk

Are Walk in Bath and Shower Doors Water-Tight?

Yes, they are fully water-tight. Most Walk in Bath and shower companies guarantee their door seal for 12 months.

To us it's important that we give you peace of mind that your bath or shower will not leak so we offer a Lifetime Guarantee on the door seal on both the bath and the shower. That's how confident we are.

Should I buy a Short or Long Walk in Bath?

You are after a Walk in Bath because you have a bathing difficulty. If you cannot lift your leg over the bath side, find it difficult to get up or lower yourself down and you are worried that you may slip then we would always recommend the upright bath with the fixed seat. This will be our Regency range. It will eliminate all those concerns.

If you require a Walk in Bath that all the family can use, then our Mayfair range is manufactured just for you. It is available in 1500mm and 1700mm lengths, will look like and replace your existing bath and has a door that can be on the left or right towards the tap end.

Should I buy a Walk in Bath with an inward or outward opening Walk in Bath door?

Inward opening doors are considered by most experts to be superior to the outward opening Walk in Bath doors. The primary reason is that they offer a far better watertight seal. They are also more difficult to accidentally open. On some baths this is not possible as the design prevents it.

Should I buy a straight door or a curved door?

Buy a Regency with a curved door. Most clients prefer the curved door. It allows the door to close over the top of your legs whilst you remain sitting. With the straight door you have to either stand up or force your legs to one side, which can be painful, to close the door. If you are slightly on the large size we would definitely recommend a Walk in Bath with a curved door like our Regency.

Will the Walk in Bath fit into my bathroom?

Most Walk in Baths are manufactured to similar dimensions as normal baths. There are several different designs of Walk in Baths and they are available in a variety of different lengths. Our Regency and Mayfair range are 26.5 inches wide and will fit through all European doors.

For mobile home owners you may need to remove the door frame. This is a normal procedure and the frame is put back when the bath is situated in the bathroom. If you live in a mobile home we will have to measure your hot water tank as it may need increasing in size.

Can you use the Walk in Bath as a Shower?

A lot of our clients call our Regency and the Mayfair, the Walk in Shower Bath. The reason being that at the tap end there is a large standing flat area that is designed to enable those that want a shower to stand up and use it as a conventional shower. The advantage of taking a shower in the bath is that should you slip or fall the only place you could land is on your bottom on the fixed seat. They tell us it’s a lot safer than a conventional shower or even a wet room.

Our slip resistant floor greatly adds to that feeling of security. It is not anti-slip, which is the very rough sandpaper type, it is slip resistant without the roughness.

The greatest advantage is that you can shower whilst sitting down. Fix thebnshower head behind you at the seat end and enjoy the blissful feeling of temperature controlled water cascading over your head and body.

If you do not want it over the head lower the wall mounting to your shoulder height. The shower head can be hand held or wall mounted and the only item needed to complete the installation is a shower curtain which your installer can provide.

The Regency Walk in Shower Bath. A complete integral unit offering, safety, comfort, peace of mind and there is no necessity to require a carer or helper. Your independence has returned and so has a reborn quality of life.

With the Mayfair it’s just like your existing Bath but with a door in the side. The Mayfair and the Regency really are Walk in Bath/Showers.

Why do Walk In Baths need to have thermostatic control/mixer?

It is not a legal requirement to have one fitted. The optional thermostatic temperature control device can be one of the most important features of a walk in bath. It plays an essential safety role as you will remain seated in the bath as it fills to a comfortable level. The thermostatic mixer ensures that the water comes out at the perfect temperature for your own comfort.

Any thermostat mixing valve can reduce your water flow rate and increase your bath fill time.

With our Walk in Showers the thermostat control is an integral part of the lockable mixer valve.

How long does a Walk in Bath take to fill?

Without the TMV it will fill at the same rate as your normal bath. If this is too long we can fit a pump.

How long does a Walk in Bath take to empty?

A Walk in Bath should empty at the same rate as your existing bath.

Do Walk In Baths come with Hydrotherapy features?

All our Walk in Baths are available as a soaker, an air hydro-spa, a water whirlpool, or the dual, (air & water) at very realistic prices.

What are the benefits of hydrotherapy features?

Improved relaxation, circulation, and relief from general aches and pains.

What are Walk in Baths and Walk in Showers made of?

Walk in baths and Walk in Showers are made of either acrylic or fibreglass. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Typically, fibreglass Walk in Baths and showers are stronger and keep their sheen longer. This is the reason boats, yachts and planes are made from fibreglass. Acrylic models are more flexible and have been associated with leaking doors. If you have an acrylic bath it must be re-enforced with at least 4 layers of fibreglass and resin on the bottom.

Without this essential re-enforcement, acrylic will be cheaper, but when you have to replace your kitchen under your bathroom because of a leaking door it’s not so cheap then. Please see why our baths and showers are best on our web site.
